Information We Collect
When a parent submits a hero message request, we collect:
- Parent's first name and email address
- Child's first name and last name initial
- General location (state only)
- The message/story shared by the parent
- Birthday date (only for birthday message plans, and only when the parent opts in)
How We Use Information
- To create and deliver personalized hero messages
- To process payments securely through Stripe
- To send birthday reminders only when a parent explicitly consents
- To respond to contact inquiries
Data Storage & Security
We store birthday reminder data only when a parent selects "Yes, let their hero remember." This data is stored securely in our database with row-level security policies. Payment information is processed entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All information is submitted by a parent or legal guardian. We do not require children to provide any information. We do not use children's information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted, industry-standard third-party services for secure payment processing, data storage, and email delivery. Each of these providers maintains their own privacy policies and security certifications.
Your Rights
Parents have the right to:
- Request access to any data we hold about their child
- Request deletion of their child's data at any time
- Withdraw consent for birthday reminders
